My kids, a girl and a boy, have received Cricket Magazine for over 4 years. It is a great magazine! I enjoy the articles and the crossword puzzle too. Fiction and nonfiction stories are included. Students can get some great ideas for essays. When my kids were younger, I would read 1-2 stories a night to them. The other magazines by this same company seem high quality too. I am on this site to order the older magazine for my kids for Christmas and a Spider subscription for a gift for a niece.
